Description and purpose of the project:
Evidence-based practice (EBP) is a compilation of the best reliable current data to accurately and precisely apply the available scientific evidence to daily practice in any scientific discipline. The term EBP was first introduced by Gordon Guyatt, a professor of medicine and clinical epidemiology at McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada, in 1992.
The goal of this project is to create an international platform for the dissemination of available scientific findings and their practical application, and to support young scientists in challenging their careers and achieving the next stages of their scientific careers, in the decision-making processes and in solving potential problems that arise in their careers, as well as in the research field.
Evidence-based medicine was developed from a combination of research and clinical practice. It allows the application of knowledge obtained from scientific research (so-called evidence) in clinical decisiveness, both in the disease diagnosis and therapeutic management of a given patient. It provides a kind of basis for the field of medical and health sciences. To understand the importance of the study results described in original papers or meta-analyses, we have planned workshops with experts, practitioners from different disciplines to demonstrate the interdisciplinary aspect for the research area and its application in practice.
Participants will actively work on developing professional competencies in their chosen area in line with the project objectives, i.e. research management, management of scientific groups, interdisciplinary cooperation, scientific communication in a team, but also commercialization of research results. The advantage of the project planned by the Academy of Zamosc is its highly personalized approach adapted to the current professional challenges of the project participants. The sharing of experiences, good practices, broad analysis of individual elements and research areas will allow to achieve the project goals.
Material scope and planned effects of the project:
In material terms, the project includes the following activities:
Conducting 3 research projects with multi-center collaborations including international institutions.
Organization by the Academy of Zamosc of an international scientific and training conference. It will provide a platform for the exchange of common experiences, an attempt to identify new research areas, integrate the scientific community, and contribute to a broader discussion of current problems in the development of theory and practice within the specified topic areas.
The organization of workshops conducted by invited experts in the field of practice and science for the disciplines of medical and health sciences, whose motto will be the words of Winston Churchill „Please be good enough to put your conclusions and recommendations on one sheet of paper at the very beginning of your report, so that I can even consider reading it”.
Report presentation of scientific research conducted within the project. It will be divided into three main parts: introduction, analysis and conclusion for the quantitative and qualitative studies.
Publication of minimum 3 scientific publications in the journals from the list of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
The implementation period:15 months (01.10.2023 - 31.12.2024)
The project „Praktyka oparta na dowodach naukowych w ujęciu interdyscyplinarnym” is carried out as part of the program called „Doskonała nauka II” announced by a communication dated January 31, 2023.
